Medieval castles
One of the more fascinating itineraries that the visitor finds in Lleida's land is actually the Route of the Castles.
There are many well conserved fortifications taking the visitors back to Middle Ages, at the time when these lands marked the border between the Arab and the Christian world.
The classic route of the castles of Lleida includes five fortifications:
-Montsonís, La Noguera;
-Montclar, Urgell,
-Florejacs and Pallargues in the Segarra
-and Mur in the Pallars Jussà.
The castle of Vicfred has been recently added to the route, in the Segarra which is a great seniorial mansion of the XVIII and XIX centuries .
Finally, the medieval castle of Verdú, in the Urgell, can also be visited, calling previously to the town council of Verdú.
Time visits of the Castle of Montsonís:
- Particular without previous reservation: Saturdays 17h, 18h y 19h; Sundays: 11h, 12h, 13h.
- Groups with previous reservation: every day during the week, calling before (phone 973-402045).
